2009: Silver for Scooby Scooby has now completed the Kennel Club Good Citizen
Scheme both at bronze and silver level. Congratulations to Hazel for her hard
work with her. October
2009: Steamy has offspring by the Black Sea Spicemill is becoming very
international as Spicemill Steamy Wasabi, son of our very special Venka, has sired
a third litter, this time with Ukraine champion Ishtar Estilo. September
2009: Meeting at Paws in the Park Thank you to all our hovawart friends
who turned up at our informal Spicemill
meeting. It was fantastic to catch up with the puppies and the gorwn-up. Let's
hope to see even more hovawarts next year. August
2009: The puppies have started to go to their new homes May they have a
great life and bring a lot of joy to their new families. We hope to get regular
news and we will keep you posted on their progress. July
2009: Venka and Apoll's puppies have arrived 10 puppies were born on independance
day, 7 males and 3 females. 2 of the males are blonde and all the other puppies
are black and gold. It is a very homogenous litter in size and they are already
very mobile and vocal. We wanted a litter with a lot of drive. It looks like we're
going to have it! Pictures coming very soon. Venka is looking after them very
well. June
2009: Venka is in whelp Caroline took Venka to stud dog Apoll von de Reezegeischder
in May. Something has to be said for the wonderful hospitality of the German family
who owns Apoll. Home cooked traditional German meals and nice walks in the forest
were on the programme. Shame we could not stay any longer. May thanks to our friend
Carolyn who came along, helping to care for our toddler who was also with us.
A scan has now confirmed the pregnancy so a litter of happy pups should be with
us in July. | Venka

May
2009: Scamp and the Stig are qualified for Crufts 2010 Scamp was third
in open bitch and the Stig was second in post graduate dog at the National Dog
Show.
April
2009: Spicemill Saffron Stigma is available for mating We have received
our Stig's health results. His hips
score and elbow grading are excellent. He is therefore now available as a stud
dog. April
2009: Spicemill Steamy Wasabi is a Polish Champion Spicemill Steamy Wasabi
becomes a Polish Champion after winning his 3rd CAC at a show near Warsow. He
was the very first puppy born at Spicemill and had big shoes to fill given his
parents. But he does is all. He is a healthy, happy, confident and beautiful dog.
What more could we wish for? March
2009: Ruby becomes Scooby Spicemill Zesty Cumin 'Ruby' has joined a new
wonderful family who had been waiting for one of Scamp puppies. She lives quite
close to us so we get to see her from times to times. She has settled beautifully
with Hazel and Gary. She enjoys the company of German Shepherd Pepsi and get the
regular visit from the granchildren. One of them decided she was definitely Scooby
and has the dog seemed to take happily to the name, Scooby she is. We had fallen
in love with this little girl so although she does not live with us anymore, we
have kept half of her ownership. We will try to occasionally show her and get
her hips scored later this year. She might even have Spicemill pups herself in
a couple of years. March
2009: Steamy is a dad for the second time This time, his sweetheart is
no other than the blonde Belarus champion Fanta Estilo. 9 black & gold puppies
were born on 11 March, 4 males and 5 females, weighing between 600 and 700g! Nice
healthy pups. More information. February
2009: Spicemill first "grandchildren" The first litter sired
by a dog born at Spicemill is born. The beautiful black Hermiona Forest Kampo
from Poland gave birth to 9 puppies on 22 February, 4 males (2 black & gold
and 2 black) and 5 females (4 black & gold and 1 black). There was a 10th
puppy, a black female. She very sadly drowned at birth. This nice healthy litter
makes Spicemill
Steamy Wasabi a dad for the first time. We will be following their progress
with much interest. February
2009: Back in the show ring Spicemill gets back to showing for the first
time this year, after 7 months away from the rings. Venka was in a playful mood
but still came home with the Reserve Best of Breed, after winning the open class.
The atmosphere was excellent in the hovawart ring and the judge very friendly
with all the competitors. See you next at Crufts. February
2009: Ruby is back at Spicemill Spicemill Zesty Cumin 'Ruby' is back at
Spicemill as due to unforeseen circumstances, her current owner is no longer able
to look after her. She is a really lovely 2 years old black and gold girl from
the spices litter. We have already fallen in love with her and will find it incredibely
hard to let her go, but it is not the right time to bring an adult in our pack.
Ohterwise she would not be going anywhere. We will take the time to find the right
home for her though. January
2009: Ginger health tests results The spices
litter just turn 2 and what lovely surprise for their birthday than to receive
Spicemill Ginger Root health results. Her thyroid function was tested normal,
her elbows graded 0:0 and her hips scored 2:2, which is the equivalent of an A1
on the continent. We are thrilled. January
2009: This year's puppy plans Things did not go to plan in 2008. But we
are now looking at males in Germany for our Venka to get her mated at her next
seasons. She gave us puppies of exceptional qualities last time, so the pressure
is on us to find another excellent stud dog for our girl. Watch this space.
