Best Puppy - Hovawart Club of GB Show '07
Elbows 0/0 - Hips 2:2

Ginger was born at Spicemill on 29 January 2007 from Venka and Jambo Spices litter. She was the only blonde girl of the litter and showed very quickly that she was quite a character. She was also the most promising puppy of this litter so we though immediately of her for a family with a potential interest in showing and breeding. We warned them though that she was going to be a bit of a handful but they were up to the challenge.

Ginger lives on a farm in East Sussex with idillycs surroundings. It did not take her long to feel right at home and she was walking the grounds as if she was owning the place after only a few days there. We are lucky that we get to see Ginger quite often and it is always a pleasure.

Her owner takes her with him on his farm rounds as his trusted watchdog, just like the original hovawarts in the farms of the German Black Forest many years ago. A perfect life for a hovawart.

Ginger has been shown only on two occasions but won the title of best puppy at the hovawart club show with the following critics from breed specialist judge Ans Schellekens van Vught (Mountain Dew) from the Netherlands:
"Nice and very typical blond puppy bitch. Excellent type and proportions. Beautiful feminine head with middle brown eyes. Scissors bite. Excellent pigmentation on eyelids, lips and nose. Nice tight lips. Ears are carried a little to the side. Excellent angulations and well developed body for her age. good fore chest. Nice feet. Nice long tail. Very nice coat for her age. She behaves very shy in the ring at the moment and therefore she doesn't show her movement at the best. But on the moments she trotted she had excellent movement for her age already. She needs ring training."

She may be bred from before the end of 2010. Her owner is looking at stud dogs in Germany for her. Watch this space...
