Pepper was born at Spicemill on 29 January 2007 from Venka and Jambo Spices litter. All the puppies had as much chance of being black and gold as of being black, but surprisingly, Pepper was the only black puppy in this litter. And we had to hang on there to find out whether we were going to have any black puppy at all as Pepper was the 8th puppy to be born, after 2 blondes and 5 black and gold! We were not in a position to keep a puppy from this litter as we knew that our baby was on the way, but Pepper was very special to us as I had said before finding out I was pregnant that I would quite like a black bitch.

Pepper was the quietest of the puppy girls, but don't get me wrong, she was still a bouncy hovawart. She caught the eyes of a lovely couple who had been very patient and had been waiting with us for several months, through the choice of the stud dog, the mating, etc. Pepper was attracted to them too so it was an easy match.

Pepper lives in Norfolk with Sarah, Jason and their 3 children. She is their first dog but they are doing really well with her. She is very much a member of the family, enjoying long walks at the local warren and following them on holidays. She is not being shown but she has her dad's deep black coat and moves beautifully.
