Venka is an active bitch who loves people. She is an operational search dog with SARDA Meridian and help Kent Police find vulnerable missing people. You can find more about her and her search and rescue work on Venka's page.

Apoll is a beautiful black & gold dog bred and raised in Germany where he lives. Apoll is the son of Jambo, who fathered Venka's previous litter and gave us wonderful puppies. Their litter is now 2 years old, they have superb temperament and excellent health so far. Apoll has a typical hovawart character, self-confident and reliable. He is from excellent lines and has a very good working drive. One of his brother is a search dog, just like Venka. You can find more information about Apoll on his website.

The consanguinity rate for this litter is very low. We are very grateful to Apoll's owner Ulrike Backes and to the German hovawart club HZD for agreeing to this mating with Apoll. She also very kindly keeps up-to-date their diaporama on the America page. The 10 puppies arrived on the night of the 4th of July: 7 male puppies (5 black & gold and 2 blond) and 3 black and gold female puppies. As they are "independence day" puppies, we went for an American theme for their name. The eyes are closed when the puppies are born and all they can do is crawl. But they have changed so much since.
