July 2006We
were so busy with our trip to the French Hovawart Club Show that we had missed
that a Hovawart had been entered at the Southern Counties Show even though there
were no hovie classes. Pines Saxophone was entered in AV rare breed and not only
did he win the open dog class but was awarded the Best of Breed by judge Jeff
Luscott. This young dog has had a very successful show season this year so far.
He was awarded reserve Best Dog at Crufts, won Best of Breed at the National Dog
Show at and if he now starts to beat dogs of other breeds in AV classes while
he only just turned 2 at the beginning of this month, he will be one to watch
at group judgment in the future. If we were betting on dogs, he would be my tip
for you. Mrs
L Lewis was judging the Hovawarts at Blackpool show. She awarded the Best of Breed
to the blonde bitch Hofwarth Dewytch, winner of the Post Graduate Bitch class,
owned by Julie Condron. Reserve Best of Breed went to Pines Tipperary, the winner
of the Open Bitch class, owned by Ann Travis. Best Dog went to Minches Jason and
Best Puppy to Tyehelva Super Summer. I
could not find the results of the AVNSC classes at the show in Windsor. I am not
sure whether there was any hovies entered. If anybody has any information, please
let us know so we can share the information with everybody. If
your hovies are like ours, they do not enjoy the hot summer weather too much and
we have to wait until the evening to take ours for a walk, or include a swim! Read
